So we’re all still a little salty about the Grammys.
Kendrick lost. Macklemore sent a text or two. The Rap world was pissed.
Aside from that, things have been pretty quiet on the Kendrick front. When an artist is quiet it only means one thing, something big is about to happen. Or it just means they’re a major dud that no one is checking for them, but clearly that doesn’t apply to Kendrick.
Anyone remember this?
His fame has forever been cemented.
The good news is that things won’t stay quiet for too long. Anthony Tiffith, the CEO of Kendrick’s label TDE, is featured in the Billboard cover story with Kendrick and ScHoolboy Q. The article discusses the history of the label, their recent rise to fame, and future plans.
I’m going to sum up the important stuff then give you some ‘poetic justice’:
+ Black Hippy. The group consisting of Kendrick, ScHoolboy Q, Jay Rock, and Ab-Soul is real
+ Their album is being release this year.
+ Jay Rock, Ab-Soul, SZA will also receive albums
+ Kendrick’s new album will drop in September

MARTIN HAD A DREAM
That leaves us with approximately six months until the album drops.
Possibly 4 until we receive some type of single. I’m thinking right before the BET Awards so we can get some type of performance and the song debuts on iTunes at number 1. TDE, hire me.
This also gives Grammy voters 11 or so months to get it together.
And Macklemore another 2 months to write another text and ask for a feature.
So that’s all we have to work with for now. My minds running with possibilities. I’m all about the feature life, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we’ll see some good ones. We can leave the Imagine Dragon collaborations for SNL and the Grammys though.
Just give me at least one song that Kanye produces. That’s all I ask.
